We only use stainless steel portafilters(including the single and double coffee outlets) across the entire Home Pro range (Dream One/Pid, Steel) and Professional (Bar, Baby T, Barista T, Big Dream).
We have stopped using brass and chrome for this key component. The benefits are numerous:
Health. Stainless steel is the food-safe material par excellence. Even with lowlead brass, metals migrate into the beverage. We also eliminate chrome, which ends up in the cup. The traditional chrome-plated brass portafilter turns black internally within weeks, while the stainless steel one remains unchanged over time.
Material Quality. Stainless steel is much harder than brass, and its lifespan is much longer.
Cleaning. Much easier to clean and more resistant. Aesthetics. We have added several details to this portafilter to improve the product’s appearance:
